SIMON DALES
After coming across the fascinating story of world champion boxer Freddie Mills, I began producing this film independently. Over three years, I filmed a wide range of interviews and sourced a huge amount of never-before-seen archive footage, and eventually worked with Phoenix Television to create a feature-length film for BBC Four, that went on to win Best Documentary at the Royal Television Society Southern awards.
Set in 1960s Soho, the film delves into the world of UK and US organised crime, with gangland figures such as the Krays, boxing, gambling, police corruption, and a string of brutal unsolved murders.
The film can be viewed here.
